EARTHQUAKE HAZARD ASSESSMENT AND RISK REDUCTION ON THE INDIAN SUBCONTINENT
EQRisk is a collaboration project between various research and governmental institutions of Norway, India and Bhutan. The EQRisk project represents a continuation of NORSAR's activities on earthquake-related topics in India during the past 10 years, while it is also an expansion to other earthquake-prone regions on the Indian subcontinent. The four-year project started in January 2012.
As various earthquake-prone regions on the Indian subcontinent are addressed, a subdivision of the project into three regional chapters is done:

  • Chapter 1 - Northeast India (state of Assam) and Bhutan
  • Chapter 2 - Peninsular India
  • Chapter 3 - Northern India (states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh)
